Opening Doors London – 1st Birthday Party
This summer, Opening Doors London (ODL) – the charity that supports older members of LGBT community – celebrates one year as a fully operating charity!
Their first birthday coincides with the 50th Anniversary of the Sexual Offences Act, a law that had a life-changing impact on those who grew up in an era when homosexuality was illegal.
With the support of NBC Universal and to honour these landmarks, Opening Doors London are throwing a celebration fundraising event in London on Friday 21st July.
Proceeds from the night will go towards supporting the vital work they do for older LGBT people. With a membership of over 1200, Opening Doors London is the largest specialist provider of services for the older LGBT* community in the UK. They provide a wide range of regular social groups and opportunities; they have a Befriending Service; they campaign for and give a voice to older LGBT* people and they provide training and consultancy support to mainstream services.
With celebrity guests, champagne, an auction and performances, this glittering evening at the Skyline venue at NBC Universal’s International Headquarters in Central St. Giles promises to be the highlight of the LGBT calendar.
