18th April 2018 – Quiz Night at the BBC
BBC Club W1, Wogan House, 99 Great Portland Street, London. W1A 1AA
In April we got quizzical, putting our knowledge of current affairs and LGBT icons to the test as we called on our dove from above and served up a quiz with a difference at the BBC Club Bar!
The night started at 6:00pm on Wednesday 18th April with a free welcome drink. The room appeared to be buzzing with energy as guests sought out the best brains in the room to persuade them to join their team. The quiz began at 7:00pm with our excellent Quiz Host Alys putting us through our paces. We had several rounds testing our general knowledge, current affairs and LGBT+ history knowledge, as well as challenging us on our awareness of LGBT icons and TV theme tunes! The quiz concluded with an eliminator round, with bonus points up for grabs.
Ticket sales have now closed.
How to find the venue
Nearest tube station: Oxford Circus (Bakerloo, Central and Victoria lines)
From Oxford Circus tube station, head north up Regent Street using the pavement on the right hand side of the road. The road will bend to the left slightly at All Souls Church. Follow the bend around and on your right you will see New Broadcasting House. Head towards the revolving doors (you will pass the One Show studio on your right and a Cafe Nero on your left). As you face the revolving doors, turn to your right and pass underneath the building. You will then be on the corner of Langham Street and Hallam Street. Head left and then turn right onto Gildea Street. You’ll see the entrance to Wogan House on your left. Continue past the Wogan House entrance and take the next set of doors on your left – this is the entrance to the BBC Club.
The venue is on a single level on the ground floor and has an accessible toilet.
